Born in Victoria, B.C., it wasn't long before Lance traded the lush temperate rainforests of the island for the open spaces of Alberta's prairies and mountains. It was on a trip back to Victoria to visit relatives that he discovered the magic of the camera.

With his grandfather's camera in hand, and rolls of slide film, an adventure that continues today was started. Schools offered additional opportunities to grow and learn. Exposure to the darkroom and its editing and creative possibilities cemented the passion.

A youth filled with travel across Canada offered plenty of opportunities to grow and explore the world of photography, before he moved out to Toronto, and eventually settling in Markham.

2006 saw the possibility of new challenges arrive, and the year's highlight has been the opening of his new studio, Leaf in the Wind Photography.
